This splendid pop-up version of L. Frank Baum’s book features the 3-D wizardry of master paper engineer Robert Sabuda. Modeled after W. W. Denslow’s original illustrations, Sabuda adds an eye-popping third dimension—including a spinning cyclone that actually casts a breeze, poppies waving in a field, and a glittering Emerald City made more so by donning the included tinted spectacles. Museum Provenance

Our National Museum of American History, Behring Center has in its treasures Dorothy's ruby red slippers, the scarecrow's costume and a 1938 film script. L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz novel is in our Smithsonian Libraries collection.
